ABOUT THE WORKSHOP – ALL INVITED
This is a quick but intensive workshop that will help you understand how to build and maintain your own WordPress Website. Though WordPress and web-building is at no cost, you will need to own your URL and a Hosting Plan. We will teach you the tools to build and maintain your own site.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE WORKSHOP
LAPTOP/COMPUTER: Must bring your own computer to build your own sites. WIFI available.
CREDIT CARD: If you plan on purchasing a Hosting Plan or Web-Related Features, bring your credit card. It’s about $100.
YOUR LOGO IMAGES: If you have a Logo, have them handy at several sizes for web.
IMAGES IMAGES IMAGES: It is best to have your photos cropped to the size you would like. A good rule-of-thumb for images:
Header Images: 1200×500 pixels.
Basic Images: at 600×400 or 400×600 pixels.
FILE NAMES: It’s a good habit to change the FILE NAMES with the dimension in the name. EX: GroupPhoto01-600×400.jpg
CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT: This refers to all the text or words you are going to put on your webpages. Don’t worry if you don’t have all the words to every page, just have a few paragraphs to play with.
IF YOU ALREADY OWN A WEBSITE
If you already own a website, please be sure that you have Admin Credentials (User/Password) and have access to make changes. Be advised, you will be making changes LIVE on the internet as you hit Save.
IF DO NOT OWN A SITE YET – NO PROBLEM!
If you do not have a site yet or hosting, it costs under $100/yr to setup a hosting plan. P
