Ministries

GoodShepherd Lutheran Church - Altar

You can be a part of Good Shepherd’s Ministries by getting involved in any ministry at our church and in our community. Your experience, time and availability are welcome here.

There is more to ministry than what you see on Sunday. If you are interested in helping out or would like to start a new ministry, this is a congregation where you can fulfill your life in Christ.

Ministry at Good Shepherd is focusing on fulfilling the teachings of Christ and sustaining our ability to continue our ministry to the community and the world. This is organized, but not limited to, the principle ministry groups with many opportunities for service.

Although we have an organizational structure to our ministry, it should be acknowledged that many of these ministries bear similarities as they are all focused upon Christ. If you are interested in more information or finding out how you can serve through the Good Shepherd congregation, contact Pat Morgan at (office number and email) and you will be directed to the appropriate person.

Caring Team

Christ teaches us that the world will know us by our love for others. The caring ministry of the church fulfills this teaching with various forms of outreach to our members.

Christian Formation

Part of the Great Commission in Holy Scripture requires us to teach the things that Jesus taught his disciples so that we can also be disciples for our Lord. Opportunities here involve Sunday School, Bible Studies, Small Group Gatherings, and Special Forums,

Community Service and Evangelism Ministry

We are called to love our neighbors as Christ first loved us. In endeavoring to fulfill this our congregation operates a Food Pantry, hosts Blood Drives, hosts our guests in cooperation with PIN Ministries (People In Need)  during inclement winter months and gathers School Supplies and shoes for Children along with other projects to benefit the needs of our neighbors.

Parrish Life

Part of our Christian life is spending time with other believers to fellowship and encourage their lives of faith. This is done through meals and events within the church.

Property & Maintenance

We are blessed with the gifts of the Almighty and as good stewards must care and maintain the blessings that have been given. Our Property Team Ministry meets every 2nd Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm to address the maintenance needs of our congregation.

Stewardship Ministry

Stewardship is the gift of returning our time, talents, and possessions to God for the benefit of Christ’s Kingdom. Stewardship encourages Christians to live through the example of giving to God and others.

Worship Ministry

The Liturgy of the church has been established through centuries of worship and it only happens through the participation of the congregation and their willingness to serve.

Opportunities to serve as:
Usher/Greeters, Communion Assistants, Altar Guild members, Euchaistic Ministers, and to sing in our Adult and children’s Choirs are available to those who are willing and feel led to give of their talent.

Support Groups

Christ is always present in our lives to lead and guide us. The church follows that example by hosting support groups to meet the needs of our communities. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Sex Addicts Anonymous, along with hosting artistic groups, and bizarres.

Live Stream & Video

Every Sunday Worship Services are live streamed on Facebook Live. Plus any special event held in the sanctuary can be recorded and live streamed.

God's Work, Our Hands

Acts of Service by members to help outreach programs across the cities for those in need.
