GOOD SHEPHERD MINISTRIES
Learn how you can be a part of Good Shepherd's Ministries by getting involved in any of programs we offer. No matter your experience, time, or availability, there are several opportunities for you to help serve God and others.
If interested in helping out
or would like to start your own,
contact: Pastor Scott.
There is more to running a church than just what you see on Sundays. If you can spare 5 minutes or 5 hours a month, we have plenty of opportunities for you to help out with keeping the church running smoothly.
This ministry involves preparing the worship space with the furnishings, appointments, vessels, elements, linens, and paraments used in the liturgy. As these items are prepared and cared for, it is important that the altar guild understand their meaning and use in worship.
We reach out into our community and the world through monthly service projects and a variety of feeding ministries sponsored by the congregation.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
We offer Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University twice a year to help families get out of debt, increase their savings, and establish a stronger financial footing for their lives. The FPU classes are scheduled based on interest signups.

If you would like to help serve or donate food items, you are most welcome as well!
Ushers are an integral part of our worship services. They help pass out the service pamphlets, collect the offering, and help make sure the service runs smoothly.
Our Middle School and Senior High Youth Groups meet monthly for Bible Study, fun activities, lock-ins and service projects. They also participate in the Virginia Synod's Youth Ministry retreats. Lost and Found is the retreat for 7th-8th graders, and takes place in November. Winter Celebration is the retreat for Senior High and occurs in January. Our high schoolers also go on a mission trip every summer.
Tabitha's Backpack is a feeding ministry which helps children receive healthy meals over the weekend who otherwise might not get enough to eat when they're not in school. Volunteers for this ministry are always welcome, as are donations of food or money.
This year the week of March 14-21, 2018.
Every year we host the homeless in our facility for a year through Volunteers of America. We feed them breakfast and dinner each day. Volunteers and donations of food/funds are most welcome!
